Quick-Change Tool Adapter and PartProtector

For fast and straightforward tool changes with an optional part protection feature through a mechanical overload protector. The quick-change tool system consists of two parts: an Adapter Base to mount in the press ram and a Tool Adapter.

Adapter Base

The Adapter Base is mounted in the press ram and can be used for Quick-Change Tool Adapters (QTA) with or without a part protection feature. The bayonet lock on the QTA provides a secure connection to the Adapter Base with a counterclockwise quarter-turn, requiring no tooling.  The QTA is unlocked with a clockwise quarter-turn, again without tooling. The high-precision design allows ±0.01 mm rotational and vertical alignment accuracy without tools.

Quick-Change Tool Adapter (QTA)

The tool adapter is secured in the adapter base without any tools. A cylindrical pin helps to position and guide the tool adapter.

Quick-Change Tool Adapter (QTA) with PartProtector

This is a force-limiting tool adapter. The maximum force applied to the parts and the travel required to accommodate varying part heights are predetermined by a combination of flat and beveled washers installed in the tool holder. This is particularly beneficial with hard-stop tooling solutions or toggle presses. The tool adapter is secured in the adapter base without any tools. A cylindrical pin helps to position and guide the tool adapter.
