Intelligently Networked Automation – A Look Back at automatica 2025

June 27, 2025, Munich: The successful automatica 2025 trade fair has come to a close. Visitors to our booth were able to learn about our latest innovations in press technology and assembly solutions that make your production more efficient, precise, and sustainable.

SCHMIDT® PRC OPC UA

The platform-independent communication standard OPC UA enables secure, real-time data handling. The PressControl 700 and 7000RT controllers, equipped with the PRC OPC UA Server, can thus exchange process-relevant data with higher hierarchical levels.

Using a rotary transfer machine controlled by the PressControl 7000RT as an example, the ServoPress 605 is individually supplied with parameters at each station by the host computer, and corresponding process results are returned.

At automatica, SCHMIDT Technology demonstrated the real-time data and operation via an HTML interface on Windows laptops, Android tablets, and TV screens.

Growth in Safety Technology

The light curtain safety concepts have been expanded with a space-saving model. Based on the compact PU20 press base, medium-sized press systems can now also be installed in confined spaces. The motorized height-adjustable base was presented with an ElectricPress No. 347. The individual height setting of the press base can be saved in the user profile of the PressControl 700 and recalled when switching users.

Perfection in Automation

Representing the ServoPress family, the ServoPress 605 is presented in a compact form factor, yet offers features on par with its larger counterparts. In addition to repeatability in the micrometer range and highly precise force control, its attributes also include predictive, automatic spindle lubrication; features that allow for no compromises, especially in automation technology.

Hand Lever Presses, Safely Secure

At SCHMIDT Technology, safety has always been a top priority, even on a small scale. The established options for process safety are complemented by protection against injuries. Monotonous, manually operated pressing applications can become a source of danger, potentially leading to serious injuries.

The latest equipment for our hand lever presses, featuring a clever mechanism for stroke release, provides a solution. This safety device requires two-handed operation for ram movement.
